Stripes Head to Toe

Friday, June 14, 2013

Three things to mention about this ensemble.

Number one is that this is a total style swipe from Lemon Stripes blogger Julia. I give her total credit. I've had these neon coral jeans since March but hadn't really figured out what to wear them with until I saw her in this enviable outfit. I knew I had to recreate it.

Number two is that I'm really happy I kept these shoes! They were my ShoeMint pick last month and when they arrived I was 50/50 on them. After I put them on with this outfit I was sold. I always check to see if the style I pick from ShoeMint is selling well just to make sure I'm not the only one who likes it. These ones almost sold out so I knew I wasn't alone!

Number three is that my mom actually picked out this necklace while shopping at H&M when she was in town on Memorial Day weekend. She did quite a good job. Seems looking at my blog daily has given her a keen eye on things she thinks look like "something Jill would wear." Well done Mom!

Casual Attempt

Thursday, June 13, 2013

This was my attempt at wearing something casual on purpose to work. I'm not really sure why that was my intention, but this is what I wound up in. It still involved a minimally heeled shoe so I don't know how casual it really is. I tried.

I picked this vest up in Vegas at the Nordstrom at Fashion Show Mall. From about 10 steps away I was convinced it was real leather. It's not, which makes it even better for summer. I envision wearing it over a maxi in the coming weeks.

Classy Neon

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

What happens when you really want to wear a cool map print blouse, a jade pencil skirt and other random neon accessories? Well in my case, you just wear them all at the same time and hope it works out.

If you have been looking for a statement neon necklace like I was, I recommend this $13 fix. Lots of personality (and sparkle) at a small price. Free shipping too!

Weekend Shopping: Nordstrom Picks

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

This Sunday I spent a little time at Nordstrom wandering aimlessly after making a few returns. I have been recovering from a nasty case of strep throat so I couldn't think of a better activity to rest my voice than some solo shopping!

Heres what I found...

Which one is your favorite?

Weekend Shopping: Nordstrom Picks

1. My favorite bra now comes in pink! So pretty!
2. A great little vacation top and check out the back on this one!
3. Only $12! I got the grey framed ones and they look so chic in person.
4. Can you believe this stunner is less than $40?
5. All kinds of adorable! Love the side detailing!
6. This top has the cutest bicycle print on a sunny background!

Favorite New Heels

Monday, June 10, 2013

The morning I put this on, I really had no idea what to wear. But when in doubt, I grab a chambray shirt. The problem lately is that a lot of my shirts and skirts are starting to get a little too big on me (thanks to the Whole30 I just completed and am extending), which makes me feel a little sloppy. Hope it didn't come out looking that way.

I was pretty excited to wear my new "Jeanette" Sole Society heels. I can't even begin to tell you how long I searched for a red leather mid-heel that didn't look trashy but could be worn in the daytime. These are perfect.

Chambray: Target (similar)
