Canary, Polka-dots & Navy

I had been wanting to try out this look for a while now and was reminded of it by Anna's facebook picture. And since I was thinking of her already, I threw on the necklace she sent me to top off the look. This long necklace thing is really working for me lately!

Hearts on My Sleeve

Thursday, February 14, 2013

On a recent trip to the J. Crew Factory store (my favorite part of driving to Wisconsin) I picked up this adorable heart cardigan. I wasn't super fond of the print when the regular J. Crew stores were selling it in black and white but the red hearts on this one got me. I'm always looking for more ways to incorporate a good red into my wardrobe.

And in case you were wondering, sometimes I wear glasses. Mostly when my eyes hurt which they did this particular day. What do you think? Would you like to see them make more appearances in outfit pictures?

Happy Valentines day all!

Inspired By...

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

I was inspired when watching Glee this week when I saw Rachel Barry wearing a bright purple blouse with a polka-dotted skirt that appeared to be green. I had the pieces to replicate it, but I felt it needed more, so I added this Akira faux-leather vest, mostly for warmth. And since I couldn't get a glimpse at her shoes I was left to decide that on my own, so I went for my oxblood boots. It's a prefect example of an outfit that doesn't necessarily match, but still works.

Stripes on Stripes

All these fairly basic pieces seemed a lot more dramatic when all piled on together. Adding the wall in back helped add to the stripy, almost dizzying effect.

We visited my favorite Mac artist Michelle. Her eye makeup looked so awesome I had to have her try it on me. Colors used: Tan pigment with Quarry on the outer and inner corners.

Geometric Sweater

Monday, February 11, 2013

This is a "China purchase" off Ebay. While I have wanted a Geo sweater (that's what the blog kids call 'em) for quite some time now, I wasn't crazy about any of the ones I have seen or the price. This one was under $20, was just what I had been looking for, and follows Amy's warmth rule. Cheap sweaters keep you really warm!
