I'm starting off today with a Fashionable Friend Feature, something I'd like to make a regular occurrence on this blog because lets face it, my friends have great style too.

This was on our way out to our Cuban date At 90 Miles Cafe. We had a great date with the best service from Raul. He gave me a big bag of wine corks for a DIY project I have planned and showed me where the secret bathrooms were so I didn't have to wait in line! Truly the way to my heart!

We finally had a chance to drink the wine we got from our friends rehearsal dinner at a winery in Ohio. Gotta love BYOB.

Movie Night

Ahhh, where to begin. I had such a great weekend! I spend more time with my husband  than I have in a long time and we didn't have to drive anywhere!

Of course there were a few fun events that didn't involve him like the girls outing to see Magic Mike. Yeah I saw it... It was like Coyote Ugly with dudes. Over all it was pretty funny, but I won't go as far as saying it was good.

Also there was the Randolph Street Market Saturday which was filled with so many vintage goodies, and the weather totally perfect to walk around the outdoor area! Pictures of that and the rest of the weekend coming soon!

So I guess I'll begin with Friday at the movies. I would like it to be known that I rode my bike to this and as a result...helmet hair, but hey look at that view behind me! That's distracting, right?

Lady Date

Have you been to Paladar Cuban restaurant and rum bar? You should! Best meal I've had in a long time. Thanks to the suggestion of my very stylish friend Anna we enjoyed so many flavored Mojitos that I lost count. My favorite food item had to be the appetizer of giant shrimp...wrapped in ham...and cheese...and bacon!

On to the fashion. It was so hot and muggy out I'm surprised we looked as put together as we did. Anna and I both in some ASOS.

Garden Party

Spent a day in Winnetka hanging out with some of my favorite kids. Yes I was brave and wore white around children, even survived through chocolate frozen yogurt! Only problem I encountered with this lace tank was getting hooked to the wire chair at the frozen yogurt shop! Close call, but no snags!

These pink pants I own in 7 different colors, seriously, 7!  They are stretchy and super comfortable plus they get mistaken for denim all the time. They are light-weight twill and just $15.80 a pair! New Fall colors were just added to the website here. Enjoy!

Wednesday Wants

This is a very hard time of year for me. I am still very much dressing for the summer temps, but my mind wanders to Fall. Right now I'm craving this interesting maxi dress from Urban Outfitters, but at the same time a few long sleeved items including this Zara Fantasy Blazer (on sale) I've been debating over for months now and these adorable tops from Old Navy. By the way, as of today these tops are only online and not in the State Street store.

My Favorite Peplum

This is easily one of my new favorite summer outfits because it's so much more than the average shorts and top combo. 

The details in this burnt orange peplum top are so pretty and tailored. I can easily see this working in an office, or as I wore it, out to lunch with some friends. 

And then these shorts! High waisted tuxedo shorts with satin stripes! I love how the back is just a little bit longer than the front. I had an obsession with finding the perfect pair of dressy black shorts that can work with just about anything. When I found these all alone in my size in H&M, I knew I had found "the one"!

Great Wall

Hope you all had a great weekend. I know I did. If next Saturday morning rolls around and you find yourself up before 8AM looking for something fun to do, head down to Millennium park for the free workouts in the park. They have been a favorite of mine for the past 5 summers. Yoga at 8, Pilates at 9, and Zumba at 10.
After that we got ourselves cleaned up enough to head over to one of my favorite walls in the city to take some pictures. Then over to Burger Fest in Roscoe Village for a fun night with friends. Many burgers enjoyed by all! Good times.
By the way, I am in love with this new skirt! I saw a girls wearing it on the street and wondered where it was from. Then, just like it was meant to be, This half sheer beauty appeared right in front of me at the XXI on State Street! And for $14! How can you beat that? Get it while it's still in stock!

The Sale Is On!

If you're crazy like me, you went bright and early to the Michigan Avenue store on the 11th to the early access sale for card holders! Here are my buys from the sale.That bangle set has made an appearance on my wrist in some shape or form everyday this week. And those Sam Edelman "Petty" boots are so soft and practical for the Fall, I had to buy them in 2 colors! Hope you get a chance to check the sale out yourself!

Daley Shopping

As I mentioned yesterday, I went to check out the local Chicago designer sidewalk sale at Daley Plaza. Sadly I did not buy a thing, but that does not mean I didn't WANT to. Since it was the last day of the sale they were sold out of sizes on a few of the things I liked. I still enjoyed the company and weather ...even though it was so humid I felt like my hair melted by the time I got there

This is the second day of our super hot July 4th trip. I would like it to be known that I DO NOT frolic about in nature regularly, even though the last few pics I have posted tell a different story. Nature and I are pretty much allergic to one another and I'm ok with that. I stay In the city, and she stays where she is, sometimes our paths cross and a Claritin has to get involved.

So as I said, it was hot, like 103 hot this day. So for some relief we went to stand down in this shady spring which is actually about 20 degrees cooler and it makes for a pretty nice backdrop. And if you can see the cans behind me in the water, it doubles as a cooler!

This afternoon I will be meeting some friends for the Style Chicago sidewalk sale at Daley Plaza.

 I hope to score some fab loot!

Lounge Wear...Out

There is a whole section of lovely "lounge" items on the Anthropologie website, And quite honestly I'd be happy to wear any of this out in public, which is just what I did the scorching week of July 4th. This high-low hemline "dress" was just too comfy to wear only indoors! Considering we were doing a 5 hour car ride in 102 degree temps, I think this dress was perfect!

Just a little something for a HOT (literally) date Sunday night with my husband.

I'm so very excited to be sharing my very first HOT PINK post today. To be honest a little nervous too. I really have no clue what I'm doing! AHHHH.  What I do know is that I have a serious love of fashion and I pretty much can't live without it. I hope that my endless hours of shopping can help someone out there find something they love.
