LOFT Michigan Avenue Event Recap

What can I say, LOFT is my kind of store. Comfortable, cute, affordable clothes from a store that loves teachers. What is not to love, right? 

When LOFT asked me to host an event I couldn't have been more excited. I have been on a rampage buying everything in their new Lou and Grey line and pretty much every romper they carry. I have this white eyelet one as well as this blue and white one that you will soon see on WGN Thursday morning! I also picked up this fun one the night of the event.

I had so much fun shopping and chatting with everyone that night. Even made some internet friends into real life friends. So cool when that happens. 

I also want to thank Amy, store manager extraordinaire and all-together sweetheart for making all this happen. She has become my favorite person to visit while shopping on Michigan Ave and is always so accommodating and helpful. And speaking of my favorite folks on the Mag Mile, I can't forget about Jon who can also be found at this location and has an amazing eye for photography. He took all the photos you see below and even put together the video you see below. Check out his photography below and don't forget to become his Insatagram friend! Compliment Getting Lace Ann Taylor Skirt

About a week before I left for New York I made a very exciting order to Ann Taylor. There was a flash sale where everything was on sale for 60% off sale prices and I was in love with so many pieces! I hoped that my package would arrive before I left for my trip, and I'm so happy that it did. I don't think I've ever received so many compliments from so many perfect strangers in one day on a skirt as I did with this navy lace one, that is still on sale right now I might add! I love that it gives the illusion of length making it feel more modest, but the short lining gives it a little sass and shows off the beautiful lace detail!

There are so many great sale pieces to love right now. I especially love this off white wrap dress because of its wide waist tie that really defines your waist. I also love this sophisticated and flirty floral dress for its cozy cotton fabric and grown-up pattern. Don't wait to shop the sale because it will sell out fast! This necklace was a random eBay find but I think I found it's twin here on Sole Society who is also having a 50% off necklaces and Bracelets sale for 2 days only. They also carry a dead ringer for these old Zara sunglasses you see me wearing here too! Gotta love Sole Society, right?

I may be out for summer break but I've still got a large backstock of teacher outfit pics for you all. Here we have some of my favorite red pieces that I wore for our end of the year award assembly! You know me, a pencil skirt and bright colors are what I'm all about. This top is an old favorite that I had tailored to be less flowy and more form fitting. This pencil skirt was a great sale find from the winter Zara sale. I'm pretty sure right around $30! Not bad, eh? And for all those loyal Zara fans out there, the summer sale is ON now! Anthropologie Peplum Top

First of all, I just wanted to thank everyone who came out to LOFT last night! I had so much fun and loved seeing each and every one of you! Hope you all had as much fun as I did.

I found this scalloped peplum top in the Anthropologie fresh cuts section and couldn't wait to wear it, so that's just what I did that very weekend. For the early part of the day this outfit was fine for the outdoor party we attended, but as the night went on it got so chilly that I had to throw on my Lulu hoodie that I keep in my car. Very chic, I know.

Btw, don't mind the bit of bra showing through the peep hole on the back. I'm just going to pretend I meant for it to show.

And finally a teacher rant. Can I just say how nice it is to only carry a purse (now on sale for only $34) instead of a massive tote with my life jammed in it. During the school year I have no choice but to carry a giant bag but with summer break it's small bag and wristlet central around here! I'm loving the lack of back pain and not looking like a bag lady!

Loft Summer Separates

Forgive me for the lack of blogging lately. I've been enjoying New York and Summer break which for a break has involved alot of early morning wake-ups. That's ok, all of them were totally worth it so there will be no complaining.

As some of you may know, tonight is my "Celebrate Summer in Style" event at LOFT on Michigan Avenue and I'm so excited! I figured today was the most fitting to show off this LOFT outfit that I knew I wanted the second I passed it in the window display. It looked like a romper to me, and we all know how I feel about rompers, but it's actually separates! So not only are these pieces great together, but they can be used to make endless outfit independently. And the best part is that BOTH pieces are 40% off the sale price right now!

You're Invited! Hot Pink Style LOFT Fashion Bash on Michigan Avenue

A you may have noticed from many of my recent posts, LOFT and I are in the midst of a serious love affair, especially when it comes to their adorable rompers and the Lou and Grey lounge collection. And now that school is officially out for the summer (as of today, eek!) I am all about celebrating it in style!

Next Monday I will be co-hosting a fashion bash along with the fabulous personal stylist team at LOFT Michigan Avenue! It will be full of fun, food and of course shopping!

Braid Hawk from Gold Plaited

I few weeks back I was invited to Gold Plaited for a braiding event. I gave this gal free reign to do her thang and this complex and super-cool braid hawk is what I came out with. Pretty badass for a school teacher, huh? I even wore it the next day on a field trip to the Shedd Aquarium earning me some mild street cred with my middle schoolers! NOT easy to do!
