Well hello again. Sorry for the silence but getting internet into this house we bought has been a royal pain! Still not done yet but this is the best I could do. Oh yeah, in related news, we bought a house! As some of you may know who follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (UN: Hotpinkstyle) I've been busy at work painting this place and getting it all styled up.

So we are loving the house! It has old character (built in the same year my dad was born, '42) but with a recent face lift. It was flipped and we are the first to live in it since the remodel which leaves us with a pretty facade but whoever did the work was DUMB! We have been busy getting repairs done and other nonsense that come with the joys of homeownership.

We drove to Salt Lake and stopped along the way meeting and staying with friends and family which made it such a memorable experience. I got so sick on Thanksgiving and was terrible company when staying with Andrew's uncle. Turns out eating exclusively from gas stations is NOT good for you, but we had no choice, it was all that was open on Thanksgiving day while we drove.

Anyway I've been adjusting surprisingly well, at least by my standards. I guess I have so much to keep me busy, but we will see how I'm feeling in a few weeks. I'm not teaching out here...yet. Not sure when I'll get the urge to scratch that itch but I'm really just enjoying living life at a slower pace for a bit.

Looking at this outfit in today's blog post feels like a lifetime ago. I wore it to school and it was still warm enough to go bare legged to work. I recall my husband asking me if i was aware that I forgot my pants when he shot this. Funny guy.

Currently we are surrounded by about a foot of some of the prettiest snow I have ever had dropped on my doorstep. It's like "movie" snow. Also the scenery here is just outstanding. We have a great view out our kitchen and living room window which make getting up pretty easy in the morning.

My days are going something like this lately, Get up. Make some really fabulous coffee in a glorious extended fashion in our new Chemex. Then drive Andrew to work so I can have the car for the day. After that I head over to Bar Method for my daily wake-up workout and then I'm off to explore or stay home to wait for a contractor, delivery or repair service of some sort. We have also been trying out lots of local restaurants and having some great dates!

We are both meeting lots of fun people and are not at all bored. In fact I think I'm out and about more here than I was in Chicago. So while I'll always miss Chicago, I really am happy here and think this was such a great move for us.  I'll keep updating you on life out here as I go. Till then, hopefully you can endure the remainder of outfit photos from Chicago because I've pretty much been wearing workout clothes since moving here!

High Tops and Stripes

This 80's inspired wall has been taunting me for two years now whenever I leave my Bar Method class in Wicker Park. I always want to shoot in front of it but any time I'm over there it's either pre or post workout which leaves me alone or sweaty. Neither make for a pretty blog post.

This particular day though I had my friend Amy and her baby (off to my left, out of the picture in her stroller) meet me to do this shoot really quick. Finally, success!

Olive Green has been popping up everywhere this Fall, especially in the form of button down military inspired shirts. I'm loving this color for Fall and have quickly picked up a few pieces in this must-have shade.

These sneakers I'm wearing in today's post were so affordable and comfy. If you're in the market for something a little dressier with a heel (but only a 3 inch heel! Totally walkable!) these Sam Edelman pumps are perfect. This hooded sweatshirt dress is a great olive score for under $25 bucks too!
