This Boohoo dress is perfect for a night out strolling the city, especially when paired with some easy walking and on-trend lace-up sandals. I decided to mix pattern and animal print for a fun twist. I also added in these gorgeous beaded earrings that in my opinion as pretty much the twins to the nearly $400 Oscar de la Renta ones. And mine are hand made to your own color specifications plus way easier on your wallet so what's not to love?

Embroidered Peasant Dress

The embroidered peasant dress is is the epitome of summer chic! It's all easy breezy, this old thing, flowy and fresh, all wrapped up into one! My favorite part about this one pictured is that it came from Forever 21 which means mega affordability.

It's very rare that I wear all black. With so many colorful pieces out there, I almost forget black is an option. Adding layers in different textures and fabrics make the solid color a little more interesting! This silk vest has been in my wardrobe for years as has this dress. Both get minimal wear but they worked quite well together. 

On a random side note, I watch the "so-bad-it's-good" show Mistresses and this necklace I'm wearing was on the show last week! I love when I see something of mine on TV! Have you ever experienced this? Or am I the only nerd who gets a kick out of this?

Cindy's Casual

As I mentioned last week in this post, when we stayed at the Chicago Athletic Association, I wasn't giving much warning, outside of the 30 minutes prior to us leaving for our dinner date. I quickly threw this sweat shirt and jeans into my husband's bag as my outfit to wear home the next day.

 I had yet to wear these super distressed Blank NYC jeans since I was still in school and they aren't what I would call professional. I was happy to break them out for the day and Cindy's, the rooftop restaurant with the amazing view and patio,  made the perfect backdrop early that morning before check out. No one was in the place so we had it all to ourselves.

We never got a Chance to eat at Cindy's but I have a much anticipated lady date for lunch there next week! Have you tried it? I can't wait! 

Chiara Ferragni Flirting #FTW

I'm so excited to show you guys these Chiara Ferragni Collection "Flirting" slip-ons!! They are the kind of shoe you see in the department store window and think "I can't spend nearly $300 on winking glitter slip ons! I'm a grown woman!"

But then Lucky Magazine steps in and saves the day! They ran an Instagram contest and I was shocked when I found out I won. Like, literally squealed at my desk all by myself after school when I saw the news pop up on my phone. 

The best part was when I had them shipped to school and all my students wanted to see them. They were THE talk of the 5th grade! They wanted me to wear them immediately but it was still all gross and snowy outside, and there was no chance I was going to ruin them! 

Finally by June the snow had melted for good, and I was ready to break them out. I think there was a trail of glitter down the halls that fine day, and I was totally ok with that. All day my students were freaking out about the shoes, and well, so was I. The glitter is so eye catching and the winky eye is just so fun! It's pretty hard not to smile while wearing these shoes, so maybe that's a good enough reason to go out and get a pair...or maybe just the matching phone case!
