I'm a huge fan of LOFT and their Flippy skirt. It's the only short skirt that I own that doesn't make me feel too scandalous. It's also a super comfy and fun shape. I have to tell you that I own 3 now, and they are perfect for work with tights and boots or flats when this stinkin' cold finally goes away for good.

This necklace was a last minute decision. I thought it would be too big and heavy and deter me from ever wanting to wear it. Turns out this was just the opposite. It adds so much interest to an outfit. Especially ones like this that i wear to work which consist of a big cozy sweater and leggings. Just goes to prove the power of statement jewelry!

Recently my blog was given one of the most valued compliments to date. A fellow blogger expressed how she loved visiting my blog, especially in the winter, because I kept things so real. She told me that she appreciated my real, yet fashionable style, especially while some bloggers were out in the snow in bare legs and heels. More power to them, but that's just not me. I'm in knit hats and a million layers Barely peeking out from behind my scarves!

There is nothing I want to be more as an online presence than REAL. The reason being, that is just exactly what I am and what I stand for in everyday life. What you see here on Hot Pink Style is what I really wear to work running around my school and then on my way to a workout after that. That may be why you don't see me prancing around in high heels. I rarely have on a heel taller than 3 inches, and even with that, I still probably have a pair of flats in my massive work bag.

With my company, Jill of All Trades Chicago, I try to help women be comfortable while looking great. I think that my ability to keep style approachable and comfortable is what draws my clients to me. I try to replicate this feeling for all my clients who are all intelligent but busy real women.

I'll leave the glamour and Louboutin's to the bloggers who do that best, I'm totally cool with that not being me. And thanks to all you supporters of real style for real busy women!

LOFT Spring 2015 Look Book

Varsity Chill

Ok, I know it's not THIS cold anymore but still, It's cold. So, funny story about shooting this outfit. Erin and I went at the basketball court to shoot this sporty look and I put the scarf and hat down on a bench. After about 3 cold coatless minutes, I threw everything back on (so I thought) and jumped back in my car. 

Later that night I could not find this scarf! I mean, how does a person loose a whole blanket scarf?! It has the word "blanket" in it, It's not like those just disappear. But mine did! 

After 2 weeks of looking everywhere I gave in and finally ordered a new one. It's less than $15 bucks on eBay so it's not like loosing an investment piece, but I was still upset on principal alone. 

Where ever you are blanket scarf, I hope you are happy.

Joe Fresh Spring Favorites

There are very few brands I can consistently count on over the years, But Joe Fresh is always one of them. Every summer I head over to NYC for my favorite yoga festival, but equally as important as it is to get my yoga on, is having time to shop some of the brands that I can't quite get here in Chicago. Sure, Joe Fresh is sold at JC Penny stores in Chicago, but they are in the suburbs and just about as hard to get it as it is the airport, so why not just visit while in NYC. There, I get the full experience of the whole store. I always find it to be so clean and orderly, not to mention prices are super affordable. The pieces are classic and the quality is hard to beat.

Needless to say, every season they put out a line that begs for an online order in between trips to New York. Even though summer is close, I just couldn't wait for my annual trip and ordered this denim pencil skirt, this striped flare dress and a floral silk blouse. Their silk blouses are my absolute favorite. I must own at least 6 of them in a rainbow of colors by now! They also have some pretty adorable shoes as well as Hunter-esque rain boots. It was hard to pass up these slip-ons and these bow flats for work.

This news is worth interrupting your weekend plans, so stop whatever it is that your doing and check out this Lulu and Georgia rug sale! I'm not kidding you, some of these gorgeous rugs are even well under $100! Amazing! It's making me a little sad that I just finished decorating my apartment and am no longer in need of any rugs. I so wish I still was though with prices and quality like these.
