While in Salt Lake city this summer, we found this book bindings wall randomly behind the parking garage of our hotel. What is a treasure like that doing hidden behind a building? Am I right?

What we did find out very fast in SLC is that many places (especially ones with really cool walls) are considered private property and apparently this one was. Oops! Good thing we got a few shots in before we got booted out by a real live person! So different from Chicago. 

Anyway, On to the clothes. I found this Marc Jacobs dress at Nordstrom Rack in the summer but it was the only one left and just a tad too short on me. Lucky for me (and every nordstrom cardholder) they do tailoring for their customers and were able to bring the hem down a solid inch and a half making this dress perfect for me!

Shirt dresses are my jam lately. I'm back to being up at 5AM for work every day so I appreciate the ease of a throw-on-and-go piece that's as comfortable as it is stylish. This dress is my night time version of my normal day dresses.

It's made of crepe so it had a bit of a heft to it to help with the see-through-factor and helps it drape well without wrinkling! It's a little on the short side for me to be wearing to school, but I'm sure all of you ladies more "fun-sized" than I will have no problem wearing this  dress and not feeling like you're showing too much gam! That is a feeling I always struggle with being tall.

Olive Obsession

Olive Green has been popping up everywhere this Fall, especially in the form of button down military inspired shirts. I'm loving this color for Fall and have quickly picked up a few pieces in this must-have shade. 

These sneakers I'm wearing in today's post were so affordable and comfy. If you're in the market for something a little dressier with a heel (but only a 3 inch heel! Totally walkable!) these Sam Edelman pumps are perfect. This hooded sweatshirt dress is a great olive score for under $25 bucks too!

Sometimes all you need is a simple black dress so you can let the accessories speak for themselves.

This Henri Bendel ring is the perfect stand-out to go with this simple black maxi. Every time I wear it I get tons of compliments and I can switch it up from thumb to pointer finger.

I opted for blush accessories with my quilted Vera Bradley duffle and my super fun tassel necklace that you can score in two colors for under $15! I even worked in a muted pink lip in my favorite and most affordable formula that you can get at Ulta for just $6!

Andrew was so excited about the starting point of his race that he took me back there to see it. It was totally worth the drive to see this spot. Don't you think?

I was not planning to do any hiking, so this outfit was the closest I could come to outdoorsy in a pinch. I picked up the tunic sweatshirt at City Creek Mall which is such a pretty mall. It's so clean too that it puts Chicago to shame. Especially our Forever 21's which usually look as if a bomb had gone off in the store.

If your want to steer clear of your local Forever 21 store, there online store has gotten my full attention lately. If you don't already know, I'm pretty tall, 5'9 to be exact. However dresses from Forever usually look like shirts on my tall frame. However this midi dress trend they are all over is working out perfectly for me because all the dresses intended to hit most girls calves, hit my knees! Perfect length and great prices! I'm loving this hooded sweatshirt dress and this space-dyed one currently.

Eva's Bakery

I had always wanted to see this pretty little bakery in Salt Lake City, so imagine how happy I was when I found out it was just steps away from our hotel! Isn't it the cutest? 

We took a quick little stroll across the street after my husband had just ran a half marathon down a mountain earlier that morning! Thank goodness he still had a little energy left to take these pictures!

We also managed to use all of our will power and not eat a single treat sold inside, although tempting. We saved our appetite for a trip to Ruth's Diner for a late brunch! Totally worth it. There is always an excuse for eggs in my book.
