I'm pretty sure every girl has struggled with finding the perfect white button down shirt.  If you are a tall girl like me who struggles to find shirts that will cover up your backside, this one is just perfect. So perfect that I actually bought it at full price. I almost never do that. It was one of those thing you put on and know that it's exactly what you were looking for. When it finally went on sale (I actually returned the first one) I ordered two, just to have a back-up in case this one ever got spilled on, dingy or ruined, which are all bound to happen sooner or later with a white shirt.

And while we're at it, these Valentino knock-off flats are super comfortable, super high quality and come in a bunch of different colors! Both this shirt and flats pair so effortlessly and make for a chic yet simple combo.

By the way, The pictures this week are all taken with my new camera lens that was bough after a tragic in home accident. Oops!

Can you tell the difference? Is the quality better? Hope you like it.

Have a great weekend!

This dress is just another one of those lucky Forever 21 finds that looks and fits like a million bucks but only cost $19.80. Gotta love it when that happens!

Back To School

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

I told you it would be back to pencil skirts once school time hit. Well it's here and in full swing. This is what I wore for the first day with students. The first day requires a lot of me talking, so I like to wear bright colors and interesting details to keep their attention on me. Hopefully my strategy worked!

Peplum and a Bow

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

I don't know how many times I've looked at this white peplum top since I bought it back in June on a trip to NYC but decided not to wear it. Maybe it was the fear of getting it dirty, maybe I feel like peplum has taken over my wardrobe and needed a change, or maybe there is no good reason. And so for that very reason I decided I must wear it before it starts to accumulate dust.

Does anyone else do this? Not wear something you love for no real reason?

I think I need to break this habit.

I've got a few items like this in my closet: particularly a pair of beautiful purple Minnies from J Crew; a black "leather" skirt from Forever 21 and a Zara blazer that is just waiting for a cooler day.

While we are on the subject of forgotten clothes, let's talk about this necklace. I ordered it as a "I'm-$5-away-from-free-shipping-on Forever's-website-so-I'll-add this-to-my-cart" item. I thought it was going to be a sweet dainty little bow, but it turned out that in real life its actual size was closer to that of a chicken nugget! And the chain was long too! So I tied the chain up and decided why not wear it with my too-long-forgotten peplum top and these surprisingly comfy wedges that had also been hanging out on the shoe rack for longer than I can remember.

And there you have it, an outfit of old but revived pieces!
