This Equipment sweater is perfect for Valentine's Day and lucky for me, being a teacher I can get away with wearing it year round and not looking like a crazy person. "Embrace the whimsy" is the motto I like to go with.  This sweater is actually an Ebay score but I found some cute heart print sweaters like it  here and here
And keeping in that whimsical spirit, I paired a already daring print with a double printed wrap skirt from Anthropologie. This skirt came out last season in another color and I adored the stretchy and super comfortable style as well as the length which is always hard for me to find.

And just to get really into the pink I topped this look with my favorite pink Cocoon coat and Bright pink Kate Spade bag?

So why not try an unexpected and slightly over the top combo for valentines day? I is one of the only days of the year where you can get away with wearing an obscene amount of pink and you know I highly encourage that!

Hope you all have a happy Valentine's Day with whoever your main squeeze may be!

Pink Day!

Monday, March 17, 2014

We had a breast cancer awareness day at school yesterday, and we were asked to wear pink to show our support. Done! I'd been looking for a reason to wear my J. Crew window-pane blouse and pink pleated skirt together and not look insane! This was the perfect opportunity to pull off a pink overload.

Day 3: Pink and Camo

Friday, October 11, 2013

When in doubt I tend to grab pink. Surprisingly enough even the hottest shade of pink matches with a great deal of colors and patterns. As you can see here it pairs quite nicely with my Gap camo skinnies!

Hope you enjoyed the three days of camo and maybe it even inspired some looks of your own!

Girly Girl

Thursday, September 26, 2013

I am shocked that I have even three workable pictures to show you of this outfit. It was so ridiculiously windy this day that I could barely keep my clothes down. In fact tiny bits of the Chicago streets were blowing at my legs at high speeds making it downright painful to be in a skirt!

When I picked out this outfit, I didn't intend to wear the cardigan. I just grabbed the light blue J. Crew sale find as an afterthough as I went out the door just to stay warm at work. I wound up wearing it pretty much all day, so it worked out well. The whole thing felt a little too teachery so I toughened it up by adding the cheetah heels.

New Fall Flat

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

I have wanted a pair of these Janey flats for about as long as they have been out at J. Crew but couldn't decide on a color worth the splurge.

I found these blue ones on sale at the J. Crew Factory store in the new Fashion Outlets of Chicago store. They were on sale for 30% off plus on top of that my teacher discount of 15% off and I had my fall rewards card bringing them down to around 45 bucks. I think the color is a fun shade that can be worn with almost anything. It's like the blue jeans of shoes! And that gold heel adds just enough sparkle to any casual look.

They remind me of my favorite Sam Edelman Trina sandals that have that interesting gold heel as well. This is the fall version I suppose of my wear-with-everything summer Trinas. Expect to see lots of these flats in the months to come!

Theme: COLOR - Pink & Blue

Monday, March 18, 2013

This week the trend will be color, which really isn't challenging but still forced me to get a little crazy to avoid black and white at all costs (those were the unofficial rules for this theme).

What better way to start a color-themed week then by introducing you to my new "vibrant Fuchsia" J Crew coat that after much searching I finally found on eBay! I mean how was this coat not mine since the moment it came out?!
