Dressing Up a Graphic Tee

Lately I've had a weird obsession with graphic tees. I'm not usually attracted to them since they don't really fit in with my teacher attire. I've been trying to find ways to add them in though and if disguised with a blazer and a pencil skirt I can totally wear them to work!

Camo and Zippers

These pictures are a bit old. You can tell by the fact that there is no snow on the ground which is not the case currently. Actually if we want to be realistic it's not even snow that we have right now, it's more like ice sheets.

Plaid Inspiration

I wore this outfit inspired by my blog twin Christine (see it here as #2 on her top three favorites) to brunch with a bunch of girlfriends and their fellas. I love a good comfy layered look that keeps the color and texture as the focus.

Undercover Penguin

On first glance this just looks like an ordinary color blocked sweater. Upon further inspection you can see that it's actually 2 penguins. What a fun sweater for a casual Friday look!

Sequin Zebra Stripes

In my personal opinion, black-and-white combos work best when you add a splash of hot pink! 

My favorite J. Crew coat fit that bill, but underneath I stayed pretty casual... or at least as casual as a sequined, zebra-striped sweater can be. This is what counts as casual Friday in my world, friends.

Sunset Over Salt Lake

I can't lie: This is almost the exact outfit as my Monday post (notice the same blouse and jeans). What I did was a quick change-a-roo out of the trunk of our rental car to get ready for our dinner date. I tossed on this sweater and necklace that I picked up that day at city creek mall, and changed into my oxblood boots. 

On the way, we had some time before our reservations. So my husband suggested we go see the Great Salt Lake. Although the actual lake itself is tough to see in these pictures, there are some pretty awesome mountains and a gorgeous sunset. Not a bad backdrop, Utah. Not bad at all.

First Day in Utah

As some of you may have seen via Instagram and Facebook, my husband and I recently took a mini-getaway to the mountains. 

It was for a combination of things, really. Our two-year wedding anniversary was the 8th of October; my birthday was the 22nd of October, and Andrew wanted to run a half marathon in the state he was born: Utah.

So this is were it all began! Park City, UT had great accommodations since it was the off season, so we stayed in a ridiculously fancy suite for less than $200 a night! We then went to visit the state capitol building, and then do a little shopping at City Creek Mall in Salt Lake City. A lovely way to begin our vacation.

This was a very casual Friday at work, all the way up to the super-casual high pony that kind of makes my fiery red hair look like a volcano erupting. 

And just because it's casual Friday doesn't mean I can't add a little pattern mixing instead of a basic white under layer.
