Lace Baseball Hat

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

I'm pretty sure the words "lace" and "baseball hat" have never been used together, but here they are, and paired with a skirt nonetheless!

My hair could not be allowed out on such a humid day so I had to contain it. This cap has been sitting in my closet since I heard the first whispers of the baseball hat trend months ago, yet I never really found a chance to wear it (it really didnt go with my professional teacher look).

Making the best of bad hair days - yet another reason I love summer accessories.

Sale Away...

Thursday, July 18, 2013

To mark me "sailing" away to Greece (not sailing, flying actually), I'll put up my favorite new sailboat top that I picked up in NY at Uniqlo a few weeks ago. I love how it feels like I'm wearing little boy's pjs!

You might notice some small changes over the next 11 days at Hot Pink Style. I will be overseas, so I won't be doing as much Facebooking or Instagramming. I'm still going to put up my regular posts to keep the fashion hunger satisfied, and don't worry, I promise to come back and share all the beautiful places from our trip.

Are you wondering if I spelled sale wrong in the title? I meant to do that. Today starts the public opening of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I've added my favorites down at the bottom for you to check out.

Not So Mello Yellow

Friday, July 12, 2013

It's a shame that I've had this dress in my closet for so long without ever wearing it! Since summer hasn't really felt like coming entirely yet, I figured this might be my last chance to wear this sunny dress while it was still cooler.

As far as yellow goes, people always say that it's such a hard color to wear, that it doesn't suit many people. As for me I think it's second favorite next to hot pink, and I also think it looks better on most people than they give it credit for. The trick is to find the right shade, and canary is mine!

Dress: Banana Republic
Bracelet: H&M
Necklace: Nordstrom Tildon "Vintage Floral" statement necklace
Bag: Target
Sunglasses: Target
Shoes: Gap (I'm guessing at least six years old!)
