Bright Times Ahead

 Lately it seems like spring is creeping into my shopping choices. Maybe it's how I am super bored of grabbing nothing but my black coats (why are they always the warmest?)  I just want some color, the need for sunglasses and the option of wearing a shoe where just a little of my foot skin can show. Is that too much to ask? I think not!

I've been thinking about taking the plunge and buying these pink Ray Ban aviators. I mean, really, if anyone should be wearing them, it should be me, right? Just the whole idea of needing sunglasses is enough make me daydream about a new pair.

I also wouldn't mind even just a ballet flat (Yosi Samara are my favorite and foldable)? Maybe even some slip ons.  I have the most adorable glitter ones coming my way soon from the Chiara Ferragni giveaway that I won on Lucky Magazine's Instagram! I just about screamed at my desk after school when I found out!

And to pair with all those things I'm dreaming of, I want a solid new pair of jeans. I feel like all my current skinny jeans get a little baggy and that's not cute. I've heard good things about how Rag and Bone jeans keep their shape, yet remain a bit stretchy. I just ordered three pairs through Shopbop to try on. Hopefully one works. And hey, if not, thats what their free shipping and returns is for!

This outfit was worn to my beautiful friend's Breakfast at Tiffany's themed bridal brunch. I had been saving this dress up for this lady-like occasion and it fit the bill perfectly. 

I bought it back in the summer at the Macy's in Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas on sale for 50% off! How do you turn down 50% off on a BCBG dress this amazing? You don't! I had seen it on other bloggers in blush pink but this bright orange was way more my speed.  And with a short sleeve giving it the illusion of being covered up for warmth, this dress is the perfect fall find.

This is a perfect teacher outfit to me. Bright colors, pencil skirt, button-down in a fun print and glasses. The oxfords kept the look interesting and much more comfortable than heels, too!

Cobalt Tweed

Last year I mentioned my Express "magic pants" quite a bit. After some weight loss I was left magic pants-less! 

This winter there is a new pair of magic pants in town. These pants fill their "magic" title because they are super-comfortable, slimming, have a mid rise, match with everything and are long enough even on my 5-foot-9 self! Even one of my friends who bought them after I gushed over them calls them "sweatpants jeans!" That should tell you just how comfortable they are. They are quickly becoming everyone-I-know's favorite pants!

Oh and did I mention they are also 40% off right now? Seriously, why have I not ordered another pair of these? If you'll excuse me, I think I have a purchase to make.

Kelly Green, Windowpane and Wine

When I got this top, I thought it was simply going to be an easy no-brainer top to pair with jeans. Then I kept seeing it on blogs and Instagram styled with black pants or jeans so I knew when I wore it, I had to do something unexpected.

In true Jill form, I came up with this color combination of kelly green, navy windowpane print and wine-colored pumps, that dare I say, works! I was actually really happy with the way all these Fall colors played off each other. I guess the lesson here is when in doubt, just go for the unexpected!
