The Perfect White Jeans

I never believed myself to be a "white pants" person. I always thought they looked terrible on me but great on everyone else. Particularly my friend Erica who makes wearing white look easy as pie. Her spot-on white pants ensembles inspired me to go on a day-long search over spring break to find the most perfect pair of white pants the city of Chicago had to offer.

I wanted something that was long enough to be pants (not capris) on me, which is hard with my height, and I also wanted them to not be lumpy and see-through. This sounds like a lot to ask of a pair of white pants, but I demanded perfection. 

After trying on what felt like a million pairs I found these lightly coated Zara jeans. The coating made them smooth and less see-through than the average white pants and gave them a little thickness. The genius of these pants really lies in the color. While they appear to be chalk white here they have just a tinge of winter white in them so that these can be worn year round! Amazing, right?

Consider me officially converted to a white pants wearer!

Dressing Up a Graphic Tee

Lately I've had a weird obsession with graphic tees. I'm not usually attracted to them since they don't really fit in with my teacher attire. I've been trying to find ways to add them in though and if disguised with a blazer and a pencil skirt I can totally wear them to work!

15 Pieces: Backpack Trend

If you haven't heard backpacks are trending. I'm not talking Jansports like we used to carry in high school, but a newer cooler grown-up version. I'm all about the ease of a hands-free way to carry my stuff around, especially with the warmer temperatures coming (I promise, they are on their way) it will be easier to get around with one of these bad boys on my back!

LOFT Looks! Spring Dress-Up

Loft and I are having a moment! Ever since I went in  to the Michigan Avenue store for the Best Dressed Teacher event and met all the lovely ladies at the store, I had to come back and play dress-up in all the looks I didn't get to try on the night of the event. There are just so many pieces I'm loving and I can't get enough of the structured yet cozy jackets from the Lou & Grey lounge line!

Here are 3 fun looks I put together that store manager/my new bestie Amy was kind enough to photograph! She's the best! She even let me borrow her cute navy LOFT peep toe pumps since my rain boots didn't really do the outfits justice!

15 Pieces

I'm just going to come right out and say it. This 15 pieces series of mine is a bad idea. No, not for you to read, but for me to compile. You see I want to buy EVERYTHING!

Topping this springy set for me is the rose tinted silver rimmed Ray Ban aviators. And who doesn't love a midi skirt? I'm so itching to wear one that I picked up in months past but cant bear to pair it with anything but bare legs.

DIY: Lightly Distressed Denim

Lately all I've wanted from the denim world was a good pair of slightly distressed jeans. Nothing too excessivly holey or boyfriendy: something I can still wear to work on Fridays.

Seeing Olivia Palermo look so gosh-darn put together in hers made me want a pair RIGHT NOW! But every store I went into told me they weren't out yet and that I'd have to wait till spring. Boo.

So what did I do? I asked Jillian from Bevello which tutorial she used to create the holes on her jeans and then tried it myself. Here's how it went.

It's no surprise that midi skirts are so on trend right now. They make girls of every height feel ladylike and feminine and also make your waist look teeny tiny! What's not to love about that? I surely don't know.
