These little orange booties from Hushpuppies are changing up my Fall dress game. You know how some booties hit at a super weird place on your ankle and can't be worn with dresses? Well these little Cyra booties DO NOT do that! They are the perfect pair with dresses and skirts! They are also super comfy and under $100 bucks! If you haven't tried out Hushpuppies in like, a decade like I had, these Cyra booties are the gateway pair that will open you back up to your childhood favorites!

A few more fall related Items. Get ready to see more of these knee length dresses over here. The midi style dress is everywhere right now but they hit me at the knee which is the perfect length for me. And you can get such cute options from Forever 21 like this $16 one and this $20 one!

Forever is also killing it with their scarves right now. I picked up this white one, this camel one you may have seen on my Instagram and this dusty blue one you see above all under $20!

Graphic Tee and Camo

Friday, April 25, 2014

I told you I've had a thing for Graphic tees lately and here is even more proof of that. This one was a great find at Forever 21, especially paired with my favorite spring camo jacket that I didn't get to wear much last year. By the time I found it on sale at Urban outfitters, it was already too cold for such a light layer. Can't wait to wear light jackets like this more often and be free of the winter outerwear!

Dressing Up Track Pants

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

I dressed up these track pants by adding a silk blouse, faux-fur vest and black booties for a weekend of beauty fun at Gold Plaited Finishing Salon. While there, I had the chance to be the makeup model for a brow and bronzing tutorial in their "Gal on the Go" workshop (book one here). I was so impressed with the BDB eyebrow pencil they used on me that I had to pick up one for myself. My brows haven't been the same since. Unfortunately it was so sunny while taking these pics that my eyebrows are hidden by my sunglasses. I promise you they are perfected. If you are in the market for a no-brainer all-hair-color complimenting brow pencil I highly recommend picking this one up here or just stop by Gold Plaited! You wont regret it!

Metallic Sweater and Leather

Monday, January 6, 2014

Today is going to be an unbearably cold day in Chicago and as I write this, even after 2 weeks off of work I'm happy that School is canceled today. I certainly won't argue with an extra day off and I assure you, I am not currently wearing anything close to what you see pictured! More like my warmest pjs!

This is an outfit from before break were I attempted to get away with a shorter-than-usual skirt by adding lots of loose layers and tights to appear more covered up. I think the fact that my scarf (that I DID wear inside all day because it was that cold) matched the color of my hair so well that everyone commented on that and didn't seem to notice the shortness of my skirt. Score!

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

I've always been very against buying an insanely expensive "it" bag.

I never understood it. Every girl will soon have your bag or some knockoff version of it, so what kind of individuality of style is that? But then yesterday I saw one solitary 3.1 Phillip Lim bag sitting all by itself at a suburban Target on the morning of the line's debut (this past Sunday) and fell in love. In fact, I was a little angry at the people of the store that they were not fighting me for this bag! How did I get so lucky to be the one who found it?

I then realized that this bag is simply made to love, and it wasn't about having the "it" bag. I just wanted it because it was beautiful. I also understand now after carrying it for a day why all the bloggers have the real one: It holds everything including my big ol' camera, my workout clothes and wallet!

Sitting right next to the super-sparse, picked-over Philli Lim rack was this skirt as well. Only one, and in my size. I picked both up and headed directly to the register.

I couldn't wait to show everyone my finds, so here they are! Did anyone else manage to score any Phillip Lim pieces Sunday? Which ones? Do tell!

Preppy

Thursday, October 11, 2012

It's pretty hard to wear this blazer and not feel like one of the Warblers from Glee, but that doesn't mean I love it any less, in fact maybe even a little more because of it! Target has been kind to me this Fall and this jacket is proof...super affordable preppy proof!

Today I got this same blazer, but in a camel color at my favorite Target on Damen. I also scored a camel colored poncho there which reminded me that I have a black "leather" trimmed one from last year that I needed to pull out. So of course as soon as I went home I started the search for it. I almost had a fashion-induced panic attack when I couldn't locate it (something that happens to me very rarely when I can't find an item where it's SUPPOSED to be in my seriously organized closet!) There, tucked practically inside my heaviest winter coat was my black poncho! And just like that fashion peace and tranquility was restored!

This ever happen to anyone else? Have you ever lost a really great piece that you STILL think of to this day?
