Since summer was such a huge bummer, I'm feeling sad that I barely got to wear some of my super summery pieces. Here is an outfit I put together in efforts to incorporate the colors and textures of summer in a look made for fall.

Overalls for Fall

American Eagle Overalls // Coach Nicola loafers // ASOS bag // Phillip Lim for Target Scarf // Stylemint Tee // Urban Outfitters Hat // Burberry Lip Stick

There is so much I'm loving in this outfit. These overall are practically all I wear every weekend since I got them and I'm really having fun styling them in so many different ways. These Coach loafers are pretty much the only shoes I can seem to wear all day on my feet at school. They are so darn comfortable I can't imagine wearing anything else. Not to mention the color goes with everything and they even look great with dresses and skirts. And then we have this hat. Hats are my favorite part of Fall, and this one is turning out to be my favorite by far. Get ready to see all these items on heavy rotation over here on HPS.

Sometimes when you least expect it, the clearance section at Old Navy surprises you. And that's just what it did with this baby blue linen dress. The full price stuff is pretty great too because I picked up this graphic tee and also this teacher perfect striped button down.

With our Chilly summer, this long sleeve dress got multiple wears in! This time it was worn on a lady date with Jennie to Little Goat. She is the sweetest and great to talk to since we have so much in common like our love for eggs and the fact that we are both personal shoppers! Instant friends.

Shifty Dress

Thursday, December 6, 2012

The day these pics were taken, I went to Old Navy where I found this dress on the clearance rack for $18 (cheaper than listed on the website so check your local store) and then got the cardholder 30% off discount. Not a bad deal at all!

When I saw my friend Anna later that night she said she read the mixed reviews and opted against buying this dress. So buyer beware. Old Navy dresses have never fit me right, so if you are interested in this dress go to the store and try it on in multiple versions of the same size because they all seem to fit a little different! Mine is a medium if that helps.

They had this dress in pink too but I liked this purple/pink shade better. Anyone else have this dress or tried it on? Did you like it?

Two-Tone Beauties

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

This was just a casual outfit I wore out to Winnetka on Saturday. Since I was going to be indoors for most of my day I decided on an outfit with lots of light layers, which worked out quite well.

I've talked about this blazer a lot, but it's never been on here. It's the same as my green plaid one you have seen me wear many times from Target. I liked it so much I had to get the camel too. It's a great neutral layering piece for when you don't want to wear a full-on winter coat quite yet. Plus, I love the blue stripe lining at the cuffs! It was a great deal for $35.

Last fall I had an obsession with Kourtney Kardashian's Chanel two-tone riding boots, so I went on a hunt to find similar ones at a non-Chanel price point. Every pair I ordered (and there were at least 4) were either too big on the calf or just looks flat-out cheap until I found these beauties. Some seller on this site appeared to be hoarding these sold out boots and selling them. I haggled the price down a bit which made it even sweeter! This seller still has some sizes left! Get 'em while you can!

Jeans: Zara Faded Skinny Jeans, Two Tone Boots: Etienne Aigner, Bag: Vintage coach Willis in British Tan, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Forever 21, Scarf: Zara (last seen here), Blazer: Target, White top, H&M

Before I left I tried out this scarf. I'm trying to decide if I should keep it or return it. What do you think? It's royal blue and black. Only 13 bucks from H&M.

Fall is Here!

Monday, September 24, 2012

As I mentioned before I wasn't always the biggest fan of this oxblood color. This Vintage Coach bucket bag was an Ebay purchase from years back. As happens more than I care to remember, the items pictured color was not what I expected when I opened the package and it left me disappointed. It's been sitting in my closet for a few years now, but I am thankful I hung on to this vintage bag because it goes so well with my new oxblood boots! Today it came out of its dust bag to make a grand appearance for the first day of fall.

Ladies Who Lunch

Thursday, August 2, 2012

What do teachers do on summer break? Become ladies who lunch of course! The newly married Amber and I had a lunch date at Elephant and Castle, then headed out for a little State Street shopping.

Although I do love this vintage dress, lets just say the wind and the pleated skirt did not get along. Some Chicagoans may have seen more than they bargained for.

And what's that in the Zara bag? The blazer from my Wednesday wants post finally arrived to the Block37 store so they sent me a TEXT to let me know it's in! How awesome is that! Now that's speaking my language!

Dress: vintage, Sandals: Sam Edelman Sophie, Bag: Coach vintage Willis, Necklace and sunglasses: Forever 21

I loved Amber's new monogrammed necklace with her new married initials. She also may be the only person who has more pink accessories than me!
