Black and White Cable

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

While running errands I stopped by the H&M on State Street and found this cozy sweater. Usually I find cable knit and horizontal stripes to be quite widening but I think the vertical pattern of the cable down the front helped streamline this sweater.

Of course H&M got me in the door with their "buy one get one free knit sale" that was going on this weekend, but somehow this very KNIT sweater didn't count in the sale! Thanks a lot!

More Peplum..and a Sparkly Collar

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

This was the second out of town wedding in 2 weekends. This one was on a Friday night so we only made it to the reception because we both had to work. I came home from work and had to change into my reception attire to wear for the 2 hour car ride, so I chose these comfy pieces strategically. I went with this H&M skirt that has an elastic waist band (great for extra comfort on the long car ride!) and this soft comfy cotton peplum top from Top Shop.

This bib collar necklace was a random find at the Charlotte Russe on Street. It was the only one I could find and it was only $13. I brought it to Vegas a few weeks back but never wore it. I was happy to have the chance for it to add some sparkle to an otherwise simple outfit.

A Classic Maxi

Thursday, September 6, 2012

I wore this dress to work where it fit the classy yet comfortable bill. I just love the ruffle down the side that gathers at the hip. It provides such a figure-flattering shape that feels great.

This was a score from my Vegas trip a few weeks back... oh summer, I miss you. At least I have the memories (and purchases) to bring a little sunshine to my days.

I picked this dress up for just $30 at the Ann Taylor in Cesar's Palace Forum shops! Crazy cheap, i know! The sales woman informed me it went on sale that day, so I guess I was just in time. You can find it on sale here for $50 which still isn't bad for a super-high-quality maxi dress with an extra bit of flair!

I also got this headband the same day for just 15 bucks were I found it all by its lonesome, in a sale bin at Anthropologie in the Forum Shops. Overall it will go down in history as an excellent vacation shopping day!

Travel Wear

Thursday, August 16, 2012

Flight clothes are tricky. Even if it's the height of summer, it may be ice cold on the plane or in the airport. Lucky for me it wasn't, and I didn't have to break out my back-up sweater. I tossed on some jeans to keep my legs warm and my hat so It wouldn't get crushed in packing, and I was good to go.

By the way, I think my bag is quite a reasonable size for how much I managed to fit in there! The jury is still out on if I will be able to fit all my new purchases on the way back!

I'm off to Fashion Show mall today to do some shopping! Have a great day!

Luggage: Ross for Less (purchased years back in Seattle), Peplum top: H&M $15, Jeans: J Brand via Anthropologie, Silver flats: Zara (last seen here)

This peplum top has a slit up the back and a zipper. Great detail for $15! Comes in light pink with white dots too.

Hurry up and wait. We got to the airport about 20 minutes before everyone else.

My vacation work station. Sadly, most of those magazines are going unread at the pool due to the scorching Vegas sun melting the bindings and making all the pages fall out!

Quick change before heading over to Cesar's Palace Forum Shops before dinner...the luxury of staying a 5 min walk away from a mall!
