Swing Dress

Swing dresses and trapeze style dresses and tops are all over for fall and I couldn't be happier about the trend.  When back to school times come (shhhh, don't say it out loud) I'll be needing all the comfortable yet professional dresses I can get. This blousy silhouette is perfect for a busy lifestyle. 

I've been filling my closet up in preparation.  One easy base layer I found was this one for just $10 bucks from Forever21! I also got this amazing one from Aritzia! As for the shirt version of this silhouette, I fell instantly in love this swingy floral top and am waiting for a sale so I can pick it up in green too.

What are your thoughts on this swing trend? You in favor of the comfy flowiness or is it too loosey goosey for you?

Water Color Dress at Simply Stylist

This 1.State dress sat in my closet for soooo long because of our strange weather this summer. Finally, last weekend for the Simply Stylist conference at the Dana Hotel, I decided it was the perfect time to break it out. Good thing these pictures were taken when they were because it started pouring, like monsoon pouring, minutes after!

While this dress is no longer available, the brand 1.State is pretty awesome. This is my second 1.State dress and I love them both. I'm linking some of my favorites below!

Striped Linen Dress at Arlington

This weekend was spent enjoying family fun all over the Chicago-land area! Saturday, we had a day of fun at Maggie Daley park along with a sleepover with my niece and Nephew. Sunday we went to Arlington Race Course for my dads birthday! I took some photos while there of the kids with my dad and I'm so bummed that while importing the photos the computer crashed and deleted most of them and a few other outfit posts which is always such a bummer. I was able to recover a few from the track, which is what you see above. Not the best quality photography, but the best I could do with what I had. If it makes you feel any better, I was wearing shoes, but they are sold out anyway, so that would have just been teasing you anyway. 

This dress is however, on sale right now for $15 and extremely easy to wear.  Get it while you still can!

Randolph Street Market This Weekend!

This weekend is one of my favorite Chicago festivals, the Randolph Street Market! Mostly because it involved buying pretty vintage things. I can't turn down some summer fun that involves shopping!

If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, grab a few friends and enjoy perusing both the indoor showroom and outdoor selection of handmade and vintage treasures. I promise you endless hours of summer fun and that you will find something great and unique to take home with you!

Gap Outlet Maxi

I saw this dress on Claire from Foxtail + Moss at their garden event at Gather Home & Lifestyle and feel in love with it before I even had the chance to introduce myself. She informed me that her very dress was purchased for a steal for 40% off at Gap Outlet! I must say, I haven't been to the Gap Outlet in a really long time but this dress was the perfect excuse to drop by. Or just click over and get it for just $28 online!

Gingham Dress

Gingham has alway been one of my favorite patterns, and this halter gingham dress didn't disappoint. I wish I could say that it's still available (this one and this one still are and on sale), but I scooped up one of the last ones during a sale on ASOS. I could spend hours sifting through all their adorable dresses and unique pieces! I am really loving this LOFT gingham dress (60% off) though, as well as these shorts. And can we talk about how cute this retro gingham one piece is too?!

Maybe you have some old gingham pieces in your closet from years past, but I recommend pulling them out and breathing new life into that timeless print while it's having a serious moment!

Hello Yellow

This yellow flora Zara dress is so cheery and fun, not to mention it's my favorite color to wear next to pink. Another bonus is that it's really comfy and easy to wear. Dresses are the best for summer time! They are pretty much all I wear all summer long when I'm not wearing workout clothes. I love being able to throw a single piece on and being done! Add in a few dressed-up accessories like this sun hat and a great bag like this Rebecca Minkoff Jules satchel, and your set!
