As you can see I'm still getting away with as many non-maternity tops as I can. I love this Old Navy swing top that can work now and after pregnancy. The only things I'm actually spending money on that are true Maternity pieces are staples, and I haven't even gotten many of those. I got these boyfriend jeans on sale at Macy's in their Motherhood maternity section but everything else is non-maternity. I've also bought 1 pair of maternity jean shorts and that's about it. The rest is just regular flowy tops and dresses and a few maternity tank tops! Thank goodness for saving some money!

By the way, how cool is this mural we found?! Between my husband and I it took us about 20 mins to find it. We had both seen it out the corner of our eye before and thought we remembered where it was. Well 20 minutes later we realized we both had one of the the streets right and it was on the intersection of them!

We head home from Vegas soon but then we will be off again! This time to Chicago where my awesome friend Amy is throwing us a baby shower! I'll be out there for a few days and then I think I'll be staying put in Salt Lake and hibernating in my house and hiding from the heat until this baby is born!

I remember buying this Old Navy denim dress right around the week 8 mark in my pregnancy thinking this is huge, but is it too big? And now in my 25th week I'm surprised how little room there is left. Everything just expands so quickly! Lesson learned, only buy stretchy dresses to accommodate a growing bump.

This pineapple pin has been getting alot of use lately. In the summer I find wearing heavy necklaces to be too hot and annoying so fun pins are an easy substitute. I found this one  and this bee one on sale in Banana Republic and have been attaching them to all sorts of solid color basic tank dresses all summer long. And they always gets tons of compliments.

We are off to Las Vegas today to meet up with my side of the family for vacation! I'm super excited to see my niece and nephew and hang out for hours in the pool. But for real though, I have a question. How do pregnant women tan their back sides? We cant lay on our big bellies so I've been walking around with this uneven tan for a few weeks. Any ideas?

Shop this whole non-maternity look below!

Shortalls: Asos maternity (maternity full length overall version here) // Tank: Target // Espadrilles: Nordstrom // Sunglasses: (old) Forever 21 (similar here for $13)

If you are pregnant, thinking about getting pregnant or want to be pregnant in the next few years, GET THESE SHORTALLS! These short overalls are my absolute most favorite item I've purchased. In fact I loved them so much they came in full length overalls that I snapped up immediately too! They are so light and stretchy with zero waist but no ruching so they don't look scream "maternity" and I seriously think I will wear these when I am not pregnant too. Most days the very thought of pants or a waist band is enough to make me want to stay in pajamas all day but these are perfectly cute for public and you can wear whatever cute top (that still fits) underneath.  They also have pockets! So in case you missed my point, just buy these!! When the time comes, they will be the best 33 bucks you've spent in awhile!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Thursday, July 14, 2016

Today starts early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for cardholders!! Clearly it's an exiting time for shopaholics such as myself. I woke up (not on purpose) at 3 am and decided to start browsing on my Nordstrom Phone app. I bought a few things like my favorite Adidas but in black and this oversized sweater ( I needed a 4 even though I'm actually an 8), knowing that things sell out quick and I can always return them. I also restocked my favorite candle (apple and blue clover) too!

But before I could endorse anything fully I needed to stop in store and really get a feel (literally) for what the sale had. I went in first thing this morning and found that I was NOT the only one who had that plan. The place was POPPIN!

So here are my top 12 items that I fully endorse and I may have even bought a few of them...Some I did not because I have no waist and still will not come Fall! But you probably will, so enjoy!

My Love Letter to Yoga

Mind over madness times square yoga, new york

Mind over madness times square yoga, new york

Mind over madness times square yoga, new york

About 7 years ago I began a new addiction. Yoga. Here's my story and how it led me to be in Times Square for the last 5 years for the summer solstice and to be an all-around better human!

I've always liked taking workout classes so I signed up to take an outdoor yoga class in Chicago. I liked it so much I decided to go back the following week, but rain moved the class to the teacher, Megan's, indoor studio, Tru Harmony (no longer open).

When I walked into the actual studio I noticed it was hot. Like so hot and humid I though something was wrong. Surely she did not expect my amateur yogi self to survive this! I also remember finding out it was a 75 min. class. But the stubborn girl that I am, I decided I can do anything once and so I did. I remember the feeling like I wanted to pass out but also surprised that I was able to do the poses a little better because the heat made me more flexible. It was a strange confidence booster.

At the time I was in between teaching jobs and didn't know what the next school year held for me.  I had been with that school and kids for the last 5 years. I loved them and the school because I was so involved, but budget cuts forced me out being one of the youngest teachers in the school. I remember how hard it was to hear my principal tell me, "you are once of my best teachers, but I have to let you go." It just didn't make sense to me and I didn't think I would ever find a school that felt like "home" again.

Meanwhile, I decided to start an unlimited membership at Tru Harmony Yoga studio. I began to go every day. I loved the teachers, the sense of community and how they never judged me and always supported me and somehow seemed to be speaking straight to me and my current life situation. It was incredible. I was being challenged in a way I had never been before, both physically and emotionally.

I somehow convinced Andrew to join me even though telling someone to come sweat your brains out in the humid Chicago summer in a 105 degree room wasn't the most convincing argument, but he gave it a go. We were both hooked. We loved it like we had never loved any other workout.

Like the fashion loving lady that I am, it was also my first exposure to the Lulu girls. I remembered being in down dog and seeing a row of Lululemon symbols lined up on the backs of all the cool yoga girls and vowed as soon as I knew I had secured a new teaching job, I would go and get some of that Lululemon gear for myself.

As the weeks progressed I reconnected with a principal I had interviewed with out of college and he remembered me and offered me a job! I remember even getting the initial call while I was in the studio lobby. It was such a happy moment I'll never forget it. Especially now knowing how that job changed my life these past 5 years and all the amazing people I met because if it.

Yoga and my practice became my home, my happy place that I could take with me where ever I go. I also started going to Core Power, South Loop and made an amazing group of friends who are lovingly referred to as my Lobas. If you have ever seen a picture on social media of some stunning ladies with a tag of #yogalobas or #lobalove, this is them!  I've met so many great people who turned into great friends and opened me up to so many new experiences over the years of doing yoga.

Early on I saw a picture of the Times Square Mind over Madness event in New York in a fitness magazine and thought it looked so incredible. Thousands of yogis gathered in such a crazy place, finding peace amongst the madness. I knew I had to go. I began hitting up my friends and finally found one who would go with me.

Since then I have not missed a summer solstice for the last 5 years! I've shared the experience with someone new each year and always have such a unique experience. This past month I went with Andrew, which was a first since he's always been too busy with a campaign at work to leave. Now that we moved to SLC, he was able to take the extra time off to join me. Technically it really was our family's first time going since Athena joined us in my belly.

As dramatic as it may sound, Yoga saved my life! It gave me hope at a low point in my life and made me appreciate everything I did have. It gave me a way to deal with stress and a way to release it and channel it into something powerful and restorative to my mind and body. It's also led to MANY a Lululemon purchase. Haha. Because of yoga it made leaving my teaching job in Chicago and Chicago itself this past year so much easier. I learned hard times get better and you have it within yourself to deal with them and find peace and happiness within the unknown, even if it is super painful and scary.

I will pretty much tell anyone and everyone to try yoga if they are unsure of it. Many people have had a bad first experience and never go back and I try to make them tag along with me to show them the magic! If you know me in real life, you know exactly what I mean, I've probably been on your case to join me to some class! It's lead me to taking all different kinds of fitness classes too. I'm never afraid to go alone because I know I will always find a home among like-minded people. My husband thinks it's funny how frequently I pick up new friends at workout classes. I seem to collect them.

I can't recommend yoga enough and hope you try it out and experience a fantastic life journey because of it too.

Ok guys, I'm just a few days over 23 weeks and we just had ANOTHER ultrasound this morning. When I say another it's because we are on #3 now and she is being real stubborn about letting us see the goods. The doctors said there is nothing wrong that they can see and that she is growing at just the right pace but she WILL NOT let us see her heart.

The first time we went in 4 weeks ago,she crossed her arms in front of her heart. Today she mooned us and would not flip over. I even tried getting up, drinking a bunch of ice water, doing stairs, walking the hall, dancing and doing a little down dog but she wouldn't budge.

As I mentioned before I have been pretty sick this whole pregnancy. It's hard to hide how crappy I feel pretty much all the time but I think I'm learning to get used to it. I wish I could say the medicine (I'm on both Zofran and Diclegis) makes everything better, but it doesn't. I pretty much walk around feeling nauseous all the time. Some days its worse than others and I throw up (TMI) and others I just feel like I could at any minute. I also have heartburn pretty much every day and consider myself lucky when that is the only thing that's bad in the day. Lots of Pepcid in my life! It sure makes eating a real joy. I'm hungry all the time but I don't want to eat anything. Nothing sounds good or has tasted good for the last 5 months. I pretty much hate food, grocery stores and anything having to do with meals. I cant have any dairy, spicy, bubbles or creamy food. It's quite limiting.

I figure I'm just going to be the girl who is sick the whole time. Everyone needs a friend to say they knew who was sick for their entire pregnancy, and now I can be your cautionary tale.

If you have been keeping up with my life on Snapchat, you saw I went to an amazing weekend retreat that was just amazing. I promise that once I'm feeling better I'll compile all the pictures and tell you all about it. Thank goodness she behaved for the first 2 days but on the last day, she made sure to let me know who was boss. I went to the final breakfast at the lodge and came back to my room to throw up. Andrew picked me up after that and I've pretty much been feeling like garbage ever since.

When I went up to Deer Valley for this retreat I took along my new BLANQI leggings you see me wearing above! Guys, these are amazing. First of all, they are long enough on me which was perfect because it was cold up there doing night time yoga on the deck. Also they are super supportive. They go up to my ribs and have the most cozy belly pocket. It's a thinner oval layer over the belly that lets that thing breathe and grow. There is nothing worse than feeling like an encased sausage when pregnant so I'm so happy those leggings are so comfy and I know they will keep on growing with me. The BLANQI supportwear pieces that were sent over to me are seriously smart. You can tell they were designed by women who know first-hand the troubles and pains of being pregnant. They are made with support lines and sections built in all in a seamless style, so they look smooth and feel fantastic.

I hope you are still enjoying these pregnancy updates! My misery loves company so if any of you struggled with never-ending morning sickness and have any tips, I'd love to hear them. Let's just hope this little girl comes out sweet as pie with her little angel wings and halo in full gear! She owes me!

Dress: H&M (sold out!) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff cross body phone case 50%off!! // Sandals: Topshop (similar)

This red tiered H&M dress is simply perfection. Again, as I mentioned before, H&M is all over the map with their sizing lately. this was a 4 and still huge over my bump. I'm not complaining though. It's perfect for pregnancy!

I have also now been using this little Rebecca Minkoff phone case forever now. I can't seem to take my stuff out of it. It's just the easiest bag. It has a compartment for my Iphone and my wallet and even a small zipper pouch for cash and a few coupons and business cards and it all fits! Why would I want to carry any more? And if I ever do need more, I just unclip the wallet and toss it into a bigger purse along with whatever else I need. I can't say enough good things about it.

Thanks to my gorgeous friend Amanda for playing dress- up in the park with me and being my photographer!
