I really think I was made to dress like a teacher. It really just suits me best. Pencil skirts, Long tunic tops and fun colors just really are my jam. 

This navy tunic I just picked up was perfect paired with my stretchy striped pencil skirt for a day subbing. I wore my favorite Yosi Samra flats (that I just so happen to own in three colors because they are so perfect) as a sensible shoe choice for being on my feet teaching all day.

 If you have never tried Yosi flats before, I can't recommend them enough! Tieks are twice as expensive Yosi's but the quality is the same. I'm all about saving money! In my opinion they came in more fashionable styles than Tieks too.

I have been doing my best to explore our new neighborhood and found this cute little shop in the first week I lived here. I needed a dress for a casual event but my clothes were all still in boxes. Luckily this red buffalo plaid dress from Koodeker saved the day.

I paired it with my favorite red pumps and a red vintage half slip to cover up the slip in the bottom. I love vintage slips and have a whole drawer of them that I've collected over the years. They make everything feel so vintage glam!

This may not be a look I could wear to teach in but I could easily swap out the slip for a pair of leggings and the heels for flats and make this dress perfectly teacher appropriate!

Off the Shoulder Dress Prefection

This dress is spring perfection. It is made from such quality material and the colors look great with any hair color. The feminine style makes it great for weddings and parties, well into summer. I am so glad I scooped this one up when I did. It's selling out fast but there are still a few sizes left.

I am a huge fan of the off the shoulder trend personally, and mainly because they cover my sausage arms, that after no matter how many workouts, remain sausage like! They flatter that pretty part of a woman's' neck and shoulders. Such a pretty style for spring.

I paired this dress with one of my favorite spring bags, my Jules mini satchel from Rebecca Minkoff! I love the buttery color and the sophisticated bad shape. It's  classic! I also added my favorite mid heel cheetah heels because they kind of go with everything!

What can I say this room was a huge labor of love. It took so long to get right and I guess that's because it was unlike any other room I've ever decorated before. Living in Chicago you don't really get much natural light in apartments, but here we have gobs of it. I took a chance on this super-dark-almost-black Benjamin More color and just went from there. 

I swear to you so much of what you see here was purchased from Target! The stool and bench are part of the same collection as my kitchen mirror and I just think the quality was so insanely good for the price. I even have the matching chair in the hallway!

I'm really happy with the way this room turned out. It definitely still needs some personal touches like photos and art work like what do I put in that big framed out space above the fire place?? So much pressure!

So I don't know if you know this about me but if there is a way I can pretend Im wearing real clothes and still actually be wearing my workout clothes, I'm a happy girl! 

This was one of my number one teacher dressing strategies, especially since I always used to go straight from school to a workout class. Now that my daily wardrobe permits outfits like this every day, I'm truly embracing it. In this post I'm wearing my black workout leggings and my favorite long Athleta tank with this Wrap sweater over it. My Nike Flyknits are in the car ;)

I recently started working part time at my favorite workout studio, The Bar Method. I love it so much that when we went house hunting, I made sure we were near one! There is only one in Salt Lake City and we are just a mile down the road from it, so it's pretty perfect for me.

On top of that I've been subbing at a Private School and I must say at first I was a little nervous about subbing, considering I've never really done it before. I've only ever had my own classroom fulltime. After the first day, walking out and not having all the other worries that go along with having your own classroom was kind of refreshing. No papers to grade or lesson plans to write. Just go in, teach and go. It's pretty great!

So if you have been wondering how we are doing out here, the answer is GREAT! Andrew loves his job and I love that I get to do all the things I love, teach, workout, and blog, with way less stress. 

Aritzia Swing Dress and Ten Friday Favorites

One of the perks of living in Salt Lake City this winter was that the temperatures were so mild. This Masion Scotch sweater from a boutique down the street from my house was pretty much my jacket most of the winter. It was the perfect weight and length to keep me warm but not too bundled up.

Whenever I'm back in Chicago or New York, I always stop in one of my favorite stores, Aritzia. When I was home in Chicago for Christmas, I picked up this dress on sale there at Watertower. They always have the most comfortable quality pieces in the most luxurious fabrics. Everything I own from Aritzia has lasted forever!
