This coat is pretty much my favorite purchase ever.  I could be wearing sweatpants and an old tee shirt underneath it and would still get compliments. Now that's a statement coat! I love this J. Crew Cocoon coat so much I had to buy it in the pale ginger shade too. When you find something this good and on sale, you don't pass it up. I always recommend buying your coats in the most fun colors possible, that way you stand out in a sea of basic black coats.

If you live in Chicago, you may be wondering how I can be in Salt Lake City and have outfit pics in front of this Chicago wall. Well, these are from my very last photo shoot in Chicago. I took them with one of my very best blogger buddies, Ashley. She proposed we take pictures anywhere I was dying to before I left and I had envisioned this Trina Turk dress and yellow coat here. Don't they all just go together perfectly.

I'm so excited to be going back to Chicago at the end of the month! I'll be there mostly to see my family and visit my old students but I'm also squeezing in a day to hang with some blogger buddies and do some shopping (of course) at places we don't have here. You better believe I'll be visiting Aritzia, Zara and Uniqlo. I also want to stop at the Michigan Ave. H&M to pick up some of my favorite bath and body products. They are one of the few locations that offer beauty and home products.

Utah Fashion Week Party

This looks is from the Utah Fashion Week kick-off party. My blogger buddy Sandy (who also took these picks for me) and I went to get a little dinner before the party. I was really excited to go because it was really pretty much my first blogger event in Utah and I was finally going to get to meet so many of the lovely ladies I had been creeping on, on Instagram since before I moved here. Don't judge. You know you'd do it to if you were moving somewhere entirely new! Unlike most people, I kind of love to strike up converstations with new people. needless to say, I chatted with a bunch of gals that I'm now happy to call friends.

Soon I'll feature the other pretty vintage dress I got at Decades here in SLC. It's seriously the most well organized, affordable and well kept vintage store I've ever been in. And it's ENORMOUS! Every time I go in there  find something new and awesome. I love their scarf bin (non-vintage one I'm in love with currently) and even managed to find a few that I sent home to some of my favorite Chicago girls!

Lady Like Polka Dots for a Professional and Playful Work Look

My 2nd J. Crew Cocoon Coat in "pale ginger" was a great deal and well worth buying. Between this and my yellow one, I wear them all the time. And as usual, I'm much happier in color than in a basic black winter coat.

This polka dot "Felicity" dress by Anthropologie is a great teacher dress. It's soft, comfortable and easy to wear with tights or in the spring with cute flats. I know I'll get alot of wear out of it when I'm back in a classroom.

I've had these polka dot tights for a few years now and am constantly surprised at how long they have lasted. They were a clearance find from J. Crew Factory. Good think I snagged them when I did.

This was the day I dyed my hair back to it's "natural" state, single process red in my favorite shade! I felt like myself again.

Hunter boots aren't the warmest, but they sure do keep your feet dry. I also love the Hunter packable boots that roll up when you travel.This snow was falling from everywhere so it was best to stay on the dry side, Especially in tights and a dress.

Lost and Found

You have no idea how long I have waited for J. Crew to release their Cocoon Coat in a vibrant shade of yellow that only J. Crew could produce! They always just nail it with their super saturated colors and there isn't much better than a coat that doesn't blend into the sea of black parkas when winter comes around.

And speaking of not blending in, I'm loving my new red Warby Parker Glasses. Fun fact, I picked these out and when they arrived I realized my husband has the Percey as well, just in a different color! NERDS! I don't need to wear them all the time, mostly just to read if my eyes are tired. They are fun touch to tie in with my thermal.

By the way, this thermal was $10 in the little boys section of Target! Right now it's even on clearance for just $8.50 and also come in blue! I have no shame. If I run into a young lad who's got the same shirt on as I do, I will simply compliment him on his super cool shirt!
