New Finds

Sunday, August 25, 2019

Happy back-to-school season! I just started back at work with students on Wednesday so I'm fully immersed in the mood.

I’m super bummed for you guys about losing my swipe up capabilities on Instagram but honestly with the new school year starting I don’t have a ton of motivation to fix that so I’m using what I have by posting all of my recent finds on this platform for you all who want it in one place. Hopefully this helps.

Here are my favorite fins of the week!

This rug is jaw dropping! The texture and color will be perfect in my living room to replace our current rug that’s starting to unravel. And the price this weekend is just TOO GOOD to pass up! Seriously! It reminds me of a Very pricey Serena and Lilly rug I've coveted for some months now.

striped old navy jumpsuit
I wore  this jumpsuit this jumpsuit on Friday and got about a million compliments which is great for a girl who was rocking unwashed hair and was really tired after the first week back to school! It also comes in tall which is what I got and the fit is perfection.

brow tinting kit
When I posted this brow tinting kit, so many of you wanted to know more! It's so worth it because it makes a world of difference. It will literally last you a solid years’s worth of tints and it’s only $20! FYI to all my Utah pals, I keep this in my backpack so I’m ready to play beauty shop and tint your brows in 5 mins or less!

You probably all know my love for Smash and Tess rompers. They were having a huge sale this week and since shipping from Canada is always pricey, I added these romperalls I’ve had my eye on since they came out to my order to get free shipping. So that’s like getting them for a discount, right?

puff sleeve sweatshirt
This hasn’t showed up in the mail yet but I’m excited for this $27 puff sleeve sweatshirt. This color always looks great with my hair color so I’m hoping it will fit well!

snake print midi
This skirt is part of the new Richard Allen collaboration line at H&M. I love the subtle hit of “snake” print but it’s actually like cheetah print up close. Did I mention a hidden elastic waist? Yes please!

I have such a hard time finding cheetah print that I think looks classy but this sweater surprised me. Also it’s not itchy in the slightest which is always a plus! And it comes in at $29!

Olive Green has been popping up everywhere this Fall, especially in the form of button down military inspired shirts. I'm loving this color for Fall and have quickly picked up a few pieces in this must-have shade.

These sneakers I'm wearing in today's post were so affordable and comfy. If you're in the market for something a little dressier with a heel (but only a 3 inch heel! Totally walkable!) these Sam Edelman pumps are perfect. This hooded sweatshirt dress is a great olive score for under $25 bucks too!

Target heels // Nordstrom Rack skirt and sweater // H&M scarf // eBay tassel necklace // Urban Outfitters fedora // NYX "Bloddy Mary" matte lipstick // Gap jean jacket.

The best part of fall is that you can wear a million layers. When building an outfit, you can start with a simple skirt and then who knows where you will end. With an abundance of scarves, light jackets and hats to choose from, it is no doubt my favorite season to dress for.

Speaking of layers, This Gap jacket is probably the most perfect color and fit of any jean jacket I've ever tried. I highly recommend it!

My new neighborhood Nordstrom Rack in South Loop has been amazing with it's clearance section! I found this sweater for $12 bucks and my girlfriend even found a Milly dress for $140! Unheard of!. I also scored this slim midi skirt. It's length offsets the slim silhouette and makes it feel more appropriate for me to wear to school.

Every now and then, a bad day at school results in teacher/friend Amy and I to spend our troubles away on a Target bender. This one was particularly awesome because I picked up this terrycloth dress and jacket with a hidden zip-away hood! The dress is basically a sweatshirt with genius color blocking that make you looks slimmer! Holla! And somehow this anorak that is pretty much the same color as my hair, doesn't wash me out. it comes in 5 colors online and I even saw it in camo in stores.

And as if you needed any more reason to shop at Target, They are having a buy-one-get-one-50%-off sale this weekend online only! So click over to Target and start filling up that "cart" guilt free!

21 Pieces That Have Me Excited for Fall

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Capes, plaid and gorgeous leather pieces have me excited for fall. Especially after attending Nordstrom's Beauty Trend Show this past weekend. I'm all about a pale hued winter coat and beautiful skin after seeing what beauty trends are hot this fall. With that being said, I'm in absolute love with Mac's Matchmaster foundation I tried and brought home with me this weekend! I am in awe of how it magically blended in with my skin tone and feels so light!

Check out some pieces here that have me all ready to go for fall!

Since summer was such a huge bummer, I'm feeling sad that I barely got to wear some of my super summery pieces. Here is an outfit I put together in efforts to incorporate the colors and textures of summer in a look made for fall.

There is so much I'm loving in this outfit. These overall are practically all I wear every weekend since I got them and I'm really having fun styling them in so many different ways. These Coach loafers are pretty much the only shoes I can seem to wear all day on my feet at school. They are so darn comfortable I can't imagine wearing anything else. Not to mention the color goes with everything and they even look great with dresses and skirts. And then we have this hat. Hats are my favorite part of Fall, and this one is turning out to be my favorite by far. Get ready to see all these items on heavy rotation over here on HPS.

A New Fall Favorite

Monday, November 4, 2013

This Zara coat is quickly becoming an easy fall favorite. And that's not easy because I'm kind of a coat junkie. I think I have a problem. Really. Well at least my closet does.

By the way, these mittens are filled with soft fuzzy wonderfulness. Hustle on over to Target and grab a pair while you still can! They also come in regular glove with-finger options.
