Vibrant Chevron

I had been fighting the urge to buy this dress for months now but after seeing it on two other bloggers and liking it every time, I finally just gave in. They gave me a 20% off code for being a first-time buyer too, so that made the deal pretty sweet.

P.S., it was super yucky and rainy in the morning so I didn't bother drying the bottom half of my hair. So this is 50% of my hair naturally curly (which I kind of hate) and that is about all I'll allow myself to leave the house with. As long as the front looks good, that's all that really matters!

As you may recall from yesterday's post, I recently went bananas at H&M. I mentioned this floral blouse in my massive list of finds. It drew me in because it kind of reminded me of all this galaxy print stuff that's been going on in the fashion world lately. I find it a bit too trendy for me to have a constellation on my shirt, but an abstract floral print that is reminiscent of one (and will stand the test of time) is just fine by me. And also as I mentioned before every thing was crazy cheap so this was just $15!

Those were my thoughts on the print, but now, here's what one of my ten-year-old students told me; "Teacher, you look like a lady soldier. Like what they wear in the army!" I don't recall velour skinny pants and floral being part of that uniform but what do I know...

H&M Sale Madness

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

If you have not been to H&M in awhile, I suggest you go. Especially if you like getting amazing deals! I kid you not, I got 9 items (two of this dress in black and blue, burgundy faux-leather pencil skirt, metallic marled sweater, cream textured tee, tree print blouse, floral button down, burgundy dress with gold zipper details and a white cable sweater with black exposed zipper detail) for $135!! Insanity.

My husband does a very funny impression of what he thinks I looked like leaving the store (think movie shopping-montage with "Walking on Sunshine" playing in the background).

This dress was 10 bucks! While it's not the most amazing dress in the world, it was but a mere $10, and so was its twin in black... which I also bought... and maybe I also got it in a textured winter white too a few days later (totally can't wait to wear it with the black fur vest over it!) I mean, come on! For 30 bucks I got 3 dresses that are easy and comfy to wear to work. That's too good of a deal to pass up.
Am I right ladies? Get in there soon while the gettin' is still good!

Party Perfection!

Monday, December 10, 2012

I had an idea for what I wanted to wear to my husband's holiday work party... and then I tried this outfit on at Zara and my mind was entirely changed! This purchase HAD to happen! The formfitting bottom of this dress paired with these simple-yet-sexy chain-detailed sling backs seemed like utter corporate party perfection! And it is a holiday party, so a smattering of sparkles and a red lip added in a splash of festiveness!

Also I would like to apologize in advance for the crazy amount of pictures in this post but I just couldn't help myself! I was seriously in love with every detail of this outfit!

What are you wearing to your holiday parties?

Fashion Capitals

This is my second one of this exact sweater. The first was one of those mysterious disappearances that happen in everyone's closet from time to time. My closet is so organized that I refused to give up on the hope of it turning back up.

Months passed and still no sweater.

Luckily, INC from Macy's puts out a new addition of this sweater every winter. So I asked for it for my birthday, and now the void has been filled.

It's the sweater I always turn to when I need something chic and cozy to help when I'm feeling uninspired or rushed in the morning. It has a great drape to it and the shawl collar is heavy yet soft so it falls in a very flattering way. One step up from the average cardigan.

I was in a hurry to get ready this particular morning and I came up with this pretty basic look. But let me tell you: mighty comfy! I kind of felt like I was walking around in my pajamas all day. I jazzed it up with this sparkly necklace from Forever 21 that I had been eyeing on a few of my favorite bloggers.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
