Oxblood Maxi

Another great Forever 21 find. This oxblood maxi dress was but $16! 

It was perfect for one of those pre-school-day meeting days when I had to get up at a disgustingly early hour and was not awake enough to come up with a clever outfit. One-piece dress, add some sparkles and that hot pink lip I love so much and there you have it, an easy early morning outfit!

P.S.: Tomorrow is my birthday, and my husband and I will be on an anniversary/birthday trip out to Utah (keep up with me on Instagram) where he will be running a half marathon! I will be taking the day off of blogging with the excuse of traveling, as well as taking a moment of recognition of just how old I really am! Sadness.

Here's that "color" I promised you yesterday. it comes in the form of my new H&M scarf. I wasn't sure I wanted to keep this scarf until I tried it with this combo. I thought it really completed the look, plus it's light enough to wear into the spring and maybe even the summer.

The Hunters were worn out of complete necessity, considering the Chicago streets are nothing but slush.

This is also my second attempt (here first) at the "curing my hair and leaving the ends out" technique. I find that this is a lot harder than it seems because it really matters what direction the ends are sticking out of the curling iron/flat iron. It's a science I'm learning to perfect. What do you think of the curls?

Hot pink? Of Course!

I am so in love with all my new pink skirts! I must say the shades of pink that J Crew has been putting out are killer! I recently bought a seriously neon pink pleated skirt (see/buy it here on sale) at the Crew that is somehow even brighter than this one. And with my love of hot pink, 2 super bright pinks skirts is still not too many for me!

When I was trying on the pink pleated skirt I asked the fitting room attendant to bring me a solid navy shirt and she brought me this long sleeve tee. I loved the little gold buttons at the neckline so much, I went to check out the other color options. I then discovered this black and cream striped version and with a $10 off promotion I decided to get one stripe and one solid. I knew they would be great fall and winter staples that would get plenty of use.

By the way, Who says redheads can't wear pink! Ha!

Just something comfy I threw on to run to the grocery store. It was so nice out that I could actually wear a sleeve for once and not worry about being super hot! My kind of weather.

I grabbed this top on a whim in Vegas after seeing a girl in the changing room in it. I immediately loved it especially when I found out it was only $15! More pics to come from the trip and definitely more outfits.
