A classic trench coat is a piece that is unlike any other in your wardrobe. The right one can instantly add class to an otherwise casual outfit. It also makes any day-time outfit look perfectly put together. 

That being said, a great trench is hard to find. In a dream world I would own a Burberry trench and I would simply never replace it, EVER! But I, like probably all of you out there reading this, DO NOT have that kind of budget either.

You may have noticed since this bag shows up in so many of my posts, but this Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB tote is my favorite summer bag by far. It's great for running out the door to just hold a few things but it also somehow, almost magically holds my entire camera!

I can't say enough good things about this MAB bag. I have the bigger tote version for the school year and it was the perfect investment piece to feeling pulled together when going off to school carrying a million things!

You can usually find both sizes on sale (this mini is and this medium tote are on sale) at the end of each season so I recommend going for a nice neutral color to work with all outfits and occasions.

This marks the last week of school without students. The best part is that I can wear all my super comfy clothes to school for these days with just teachers. The worst part is that I miss my students. They were such a great bunch so I'm actually going to miss them this summer. I think I'll get over it when I realize how great it is to not wake up at 5AM every day!

I wore this outfit to school yesterday after my short trip to NYC this past weekend. I picked up this short sleeve sweatshirt at one of my favorite stores in Soho, Aritzia! I saw a girl in the fitting room wearing it and knew I had to have it. Cozy chic perfection. I grabbed it for my friend Olivia too and she loved it so much she got it too! Even better, we both wound up wearing it yesterday in pretty much identical outfits!  You know it's good when it's the first thing you grab to wear right after you bought it!

I paired it with my favorite high-waisted Lululemon leggings and my newest handbag that I also picked up in the Rebecca Minkoff studio in Soho. Can you tell we did some shopping? I have this same style bag in a light putty color but I've had my eye on the black one for so long now that when the salesman told me it was 15% off and I got a free clutch with purchase, I just had to cave. Besides, my husband told me to get myself something if I found something I liked. Twist my Arm...

I'm happy to be back and sleep in my own bed. We did a TON of walking and even two workouts while there! Not your average vacation, so some rest is needed.

Fall Perfection

I LOVE this cape. Really and truly. It was one of those things where I tried it on and knew I had to have it. I have other capes, lots of them. But this one was different. The color is perfection and the details, down to the contrasting inside lining had me at first glance. It was over before it began. I have pretty much been wearing it every day to work. It's so easy to throw over a big bulky sweater and still be able to bend my arms driving to work. It's basically a blanket with arm holes and I'm not mad about that at all.

I am a little mad at the price of mine, but I found you some at much more reasonable prices!

This is what I wore to school and then after to our Anniversary dinner. My husband said he wanted to take pictures back at the place we took some of our favorite wedding pictures. So romantic sometimes that guy!

This sweater has some great movement to it and made for some dramatic walks down the school hallway as well as lake side windy posing. If you would like to feel infinitely cooler when you walk, pick up this Forever 21 sweater. You wont be sorry.

LOFT Flippy Skirt and Other Favorites

This little LOFT tweed flippy skirt is becoming a fall favorite, fast! It's bordering on the almost inappropriate line of shortness with my tall frame so I classed it up with a blouse and jacket. Whenever I want to get away with wearing one of my shorter skirts to work this is always the way I solve it. Keeping the top half completely covered up with nothing too tight makes the look balance out. And if you just cant deal with a shortish hemline then this skirt is perfection. both have an insanely comfortable flat yet slightly elastic waist band too. What could be better then comfort mixed with great style?

Can we also take a moment to talk about this statement necklace, also from LOFT . It has a feather-like appearance and I'm pretty sure every one of my students wanted to touch it. Just the look of it alone is a tactile sensation. 

Since I have a mild obsession with outerwear,  I also fell a little bit in love with a few more LOFT beauties while in store. This coat that gives you an instant Olivia Pope boost, this fuzzy little moto jacket can be an indoor/outdoor staple, an this coatigan (yup, it's called a coatigan, a mix of a coat and cardigan) is a must. I'm also currently stalking this super soft gray moto jacket.
