This is my version of a little Fall preview even though I wore this outfit in the early parts of the summer since it was so chilly back then. Remember that? It was only a few weeks ago and we are headed right back to those temps soon.

This sweatshirt was a steal from the Zara sale earlier this summer so I'm sorry to say, it's no longer available. But if you're feeling splurgy, there is always this one.

This bag was a free gift with purchase at the incredible Rebecca Minkoff store in Soho. Has anyone been there? It's so cool how the mirrors detect the products you're holding and displays them on screen in the fitting rooms so you can virtually try on the other colors. You can even order up a drink from the store mirrors and try out different types of lighting! So cool. By far the most high-tech fashion related store I have ever been in. It's like the Apple store and purses had a baby. You must visit next time you're in NYC!

Thanks to Lauren for the photos.

There's snow in Chicago. What's new. These photos were taken before everything turned into a giant ice mountain. Back when it started to snow we thought it was novel and pretty. I'm so beyond that point right now. I would like to see my ankles again. I know they are in there, trapped under some fuzzy socks and snowboots. Come on Mother Nature, give me a reason to get dressed again!

Theme: COLOR - Lavender & Gray

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

I wouldn't say this outfit is impresive as far as color goes. I mean, it's pretty basic.

The part of my outfit I would like to point out is my first successful "triple necklacing!" All day people kept complimenting me on my necklace to which I would say: "Which one? It's three." It's not as easy as it looks, but now that I have found three that go together so nicely they will be making repeat apperances in this same layered order.

Take a peek all the way down below at how I wore it out on the weekend!

Hot Pink Floral & Leather

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

This what I threw in the overnight bag to wear the day after my friend Emily's wedding. It's always a little rough when all you have are heels from the party, and don't want to bring another pair of shoes to wear the next day. To avoid this I just rewore the shoes I wore to the ceremony.  This time around I clipped on my cheap little Forever 21 clearence earrings onto the toes!

Onto a hair note. So I'm back to being a redhead. My two month break as a brunette was fun but it just never felt as special as when it was red. I'm glad to say that I'm back to representing "redheads" in the blog world because I don't feel there are too many out there. So on that note I'd like to send thanks to my favorite blogger hair inspirations, Alicia for her bold red, and Krystal for her perfectly curled bob.

A Hint of Spring

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Even when it's single-digit temperatures outside I still want to wear bright colors. This was my attempt at bringing my spring clothes into winter.

The most useful tool in doing this is a Chambray shirt; this one has ever-so-tiny polka-dots on it and makes a fantastic layering piece.

More Peplum..and a Sparkly Collar

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

This was the second out of town wedding in 2 weekends. This one was on a Friday night so we only made it to the reception because we both had to work. I came home from work and had to change into my reception attire to wear for the 2 hour car ride, so I chose these comfy pieces strategically. I went with this H&M skirt that has an elastic waist band (great for extra comfort on the long car ride!) and this soft comfy cotton peplum top from Top Shop.

This bib collar necklace was a random find at the Charlotte Russe on Street. It was the only one I could find and it was only $13. I brought it to Vegas a few weeks back but never wore it. I was happy to have the chance for it to add some sparkle to an otherwise simple outfit.

Ok, so its not faux leather this time, but somehow all my Friday posts involve me wearing an all-black ensemble. It just happens, without fail, at least once a week. I guess it's my dark side that needs to get out.

This was what I wore out to dinner one night. Then after dinner we went back to the hotel where I promptly changed shoes and put on some comfy flats. I know I'm a city girl who pretty much walks all over downtown Chicago at home, but man there is a whole lot of walking in Vegas! Thank goodness I brought a bunch of flats!

Have a happy weekend all!

Rosy

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Long ago I was a silver girl, then for the past 4 years I was a yellow gold lover. Now that yellow gold has taken over nearly all my accessories, I'm trying to incorporate more silver and rose gold. These rose gold mirrored heels from Nine West were a great start. H&M has some really great rose gold options right now too.

On a weather-related note, I really wanted to wear something that wasn't a tank top or a sleeveless dress. I want some layering weather, darn it! Even Sunday was a treat, at 80 degrees, so comfortable and breezy... seriously it was so welcomed! I even slept with my windows open for the first time in a long time (only to be awoken the next morning to a crazy man banging on a pole yelling "I'm not crazy".... oh, but you are sir).  My hair, silk blouses and pants are all sick of this weather!
